Step 2: Then, for users to customize the table creation area, the Create Table dialog box will appear. Excel will default to the data area you have selected. Users can also customize the data area according to their desired table creation.

  • Check the My table has headers box , in case the data range already includes table headers.
  • Default header names such as Column 1, Column 2,… will appear at the top of the table columns. People can freely change the header.

Method 3: Use Border to create a table

At this time:

  • Header Row:  The first row of the table is used to contain header information.
  • Total Row:  The last row, used to sum the numbers.
  • Banded Row:  Performs alternating color and cell grouping.
  • First Column:  The first column of the table will be displayed with special formatting.
  • Last Column: The last column of the table will be displayed with special formatting.
  • Banded Column:  The columns will be colored alternately.

Some options are designed by default. If you do not want to use them, uncheck or check the items you need to use.

Step 2: In the Design tab of the Table Tools section, you can freely format as desired. Here, I will alternate the columns with Banded Column.

Delete all

With this deletion method, all data in the table will be lost. Therefore, copy the data to another empty area if necessary!

Step 1: Select the entire table.

Clear table formatting

This will remove the table formatting from all cells. But the formatting that has been done like shading, borders, content will remain intact.

Step 1: Select any cell in the table, then the Table Design tab will appear.
